Tour 2 - Chifley Home Museum Guided Tour
Ben Chifley is widely regarded as Australia's most loved Prime Minister. Bathurst born and bred, Ben joined the railway at the age of 14 and rose to become the youngest engine driver in the state before leaving to enter politics. He led Australia through the post war era and was instrumental in the establishment of the Holden Motor Car manufacturing facility in Australia in the late 1940's.
Today, the home he and Elizabeth shared their entire married life is a treasure trove of life in the 1950's and a time capsule of priceless memorabilia. You'll see their actual furniture, Elizabeth's sewing and Silverware that Chifley collected as Prime Minister.
